Web design for tradesmen

For plumbers, electricians, roofers and builders: a site that ranks in the towns you cover, shows your accreditations, and makes sure a missed call is not a lost job.

Websites for trades

Web design for tradesmen should start with how the work actually arrives. A homeowner with a leaking cylinder or a tripping fuse board searches on their phone, looks at two or three local results, checks for a Gas Safe or NICEIC logo and some real photos, then calls. If you are up a ladder and miss it, they ring the next name.

We build websites for plumbers, heating engineers, electricians, roofers, carpenters and builders, from sole traders to firms running several vans. Each site has a page for every job you want more of and every area you cover, your accreditations where customers look for them, and a quote form that takes photos. Behind it, missed calls get an automatic text with a link to book or send details.

What goes wrong

  1. Missed callsYou're on a job, the phone rings out, and the customer calls the next result.
  2. One page for everythingBoiler repair and full rewires need their own pages to rank.
  3. No proofAccreditations and past jobs are what customers check first.

What we build instead

  • Service + area pagesEach job type and town you cover, done properly.
  • Proof that sellsGas Safe, NICEIC or TrustMark, plus real job photos.
  • Missed-call text backEvery missed call gets an instant reply and a booking link.

Web design for plumbers, electricians and roofers that ranks locally

Customers search for the job and the place: 'boiler repair Leeds', 'EICR Harrogate', 'flat roof repair near me'. One page listing everything you do will not show up for those. We build a page for each job worth winning, such as boiler installs, EICRs, consumer unit upgrades, rewires, flat roofs or chimney repairs, plus pages for the towns you cover, each with genuine local detail rather than copied text. Your Google Business Profile, reviews and site then support each other, which is what local search rewards.

  • One page per job type, in the words customers use
  • Area pages for each town you cover, with real local detail
  • Google Business Profile and reviews linked to the site

Trades website design that shows Gas Safe, NICEIC and TrustMark properly

Accreditation is the first thing many customers check. Gas Safe registration is a legal requirement for gas work, and more customers now know to look for it. NICEIC or NAPIT registration tells them an electrician's work is assessed, and TrustMark signals a government-endorsed quality scheme. These belong near the top of the relevant pages, with your registration number and a link to the public register, used in line with each scheme's logo rules. Real job photos do the rest: before and after, the van, the team. Stock photos of smiling plumbers do the opposite.

  • Registration numbers with links to the public registers
  • Before-and-after galleries by job type
  • Insurance and workmanship guarantees shown where you hold them

Missed-call text back and quote forms for tradesmen

You cannot answer the phone in a loft or on a roof, and customers rarely leave voicemails. With missed-call text back, every unanswered call to your business number gets an automatic text: a short note that you are on a job, with a link to book a slot or send details and photos. The enquiry reaches you as one message with the job type, postcode and pictures, so you can price it or call back when you are free. Quote forms on the site work the same way, and everything can feed a simple job list or the CRM you already use.

  • Automatic text reply to every missed call
  • Photo and video upload on quote forms
  • Enquiries sent to your phone with job type and postcode

Questions

How much does a website for a tradesman cost in the UK?

It depends on scope: how many services and areas need their own pages, whether you want missed-call text back and quote automation, and how much writing and photography is needed. A sole trader needs less than a multi-van firm. The free audit ends with a written quote.

Is my own website better than Checkatrade for getting work?

They do different jobs. Directory listings can bring enquiries, but you share the page with competitors and pay for the listing. Your own site ranks for your name and services, keeps your photos and reviews in one place, and every enquiry is yours. Many trades use both.

What is missed-call text back?

When a call to your business number goes unanswered, the customer gets an automatic text straight away, saying you are on a job and offering a link to book or send details. It stops them ringing the next name on the list while you are busy.

Do I need a separate page for every town I cover?

For the towns where you want work, yes, as long as each page has something real to say: the jobs you do there, local property types, photos from nearby jobs. The same text with the town name swapped tends not to rank and reads badly to customers.

Should I show my Gas Safe or NICEIC logo on my website?

Yes, if you hold the registration. Show it on the relevant service pages with your registration number and a link to the public register, so customers can check it themselves. Follow each scheme's rules on logo use, and never show a scheme you are not currently registered with.

Can I update the website myself between jobs?

Yes. Adding job photos, a new service or a review can be done from your phone. We set the site up so everyday changes are simple and the structure that helps you rank stays intact.
